Hello readers and welcome to the first exciting day of our trip, won't you?
And when we talk exciting, we're naturally talking about Ohio. But more on that in a bit.
We were all packed and ready to leave by 1pm. We're driving a Ford Taurus. Maroon. It's ugly and I basically hate it, but it's our home for the next two and a half weeks. Today was a driving day. Interstate 80 from Lewisburg to wherever we are in Ohio.
We stopped once or twice. Yep, exciting.
Around 7:30, we pulled into Harrison Lake State Park near Fayette, Ohio. While Boo and Derek set up the tents, Nikki and I ventured into Wasou (about 20 miles away). This place is FLAT. And boring. REALLY REALLY BORING. Tons of cute little houses here. But wow. Boring.
Also, I discovered that I forgot my sweater and sleeping bag. Should be a fun night.
The town of Wasou (I'm not even sure it was called that exactly) reminds me a lot of Texarkana. Nikki says that Texarkana had more going on in it. Maybe.
Back at camp, Boo went for a run and naturally got lost, having to call us for directions.
It's dark now and Nikki and Derek are attempting to play Rummy without a 10 of spades and without a light. Good luck.
Tomorrow is Chicago. Thank god. I don't think any of us could take this much excitement for another day.
